Curtains are not merely pieces of fabric hung over windows or doors, but civilizations to modern times. Curtains
are continuously evolving from basic covering material to essential elements of
interior decoration.

 The usage of thick textiles and
animal hides to cover apertures for privacy and weather protection can be
traced back hundreds of years in the history of curtains to ancient
Mesopotamia. The idea of curtains was developed over antiquity by societies
such as the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, who added elaborate patterns and
luxurious materials to denote grandeur and luxury.
